overview

Discover Český Krumlov the relaxed way — without the rushing typical of most day tours. Travel in a small group and enjoy a full-day journey combining one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval towns with an authentic Bohemian village.

After hotel pickup in Prague, we head to Český Krumlov. With your guide, you’ll explore both iconic highlights and quieter corners most visitors never find. The stroll usually includes visits to local artisans such as a jeweller, blacksmith, or leather craftsman. On warm days, we may taste local craft beer too.

After the walk, we’ll have lunch in a cozy local restaurant, followed by extended free time to explore at your own pace. You’re free to discover more corners of the town, browse shops, or visit one of its many museums.

On the way to Prague, we make a special stop in Holašovice, a tiny UNESCO-listed village, where we talk about Czech village life. On most visits, we are welcomed by a local resident whose family has lived here for over 500 years, sharing everyday objects and personal stories of rural life.

We return to Prague in the early evening.

Please note: Castle interior access varies by season. The Castle Tower is open year-round (except Mondays), while other interiors are available on guided tours. Your guide can advise on options if you’re interested.

what's included

WHAT TO EXPECT

Pick-up in Prague between 7:00-8:00*

1️⃣ Guided Walk: Castle, Old Town & Hidden Corners

We begin at the top — literally. After arriving early (before the big crowds), we’ll park above the town and start a guided walk through the castle complex (exteriors), taking in sweeping views over the rooftops and the Vltava River bens as we descend gently along a cobbled path.

From there, we’ll explore what were once three separate historic townsLatrán, the Old Town, and the Jewish Quarter. Each has its own unique vibe, and we take the time to enjoy it all.

This isn’t a checklist march — we move at a relaxed, easy-going pace, stopping for photos, stories, and local insights. Along the way, we’ll discover hidden gems most tours skip — from tucked-away viewpoints to charming artisan shops and quiet corners that feel miles away from the main square.

Physical demand: 🟢 Easy (well-maintained paths, walking down)

2-2.5 hours ● Guided walk

We’ll enjoy lunch at one of our trusted local restaurants, chosen from a small selection of cozy, well-proven places we know personally. Depending on the day and season, lunch may feature traditional Czech or other quality local cuisine.

Please note that vegan and vegetarian options are limited, but we are happy to coordinate with the kitchen to find a suitable meal.

Physical demand: 🔘 Not applicable (seated break)

1 hour ●  Lunch Included (1 main course + 1 non-alcoholic drink, beer or wine)

After the guided walk, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore Český Krumlov at your own pace. Enjoy a coffee by the river, wander hidden lanes, browse local craft shops, take photos, or simply soak in the atmosphere.

If you’re interested in museums, there are several options you may choose to visit during your free time (closed on Mondays), such as:

  • 🖼️ Castle Museum

  • 🧬 Moldavite Museum

  • 🎨 Egon Schiele Art Centrum

  • 📿 Monastery Museum

  • 🏛️ Regional Museum

Your guide will happily recommend museums, viewpoints, cafés, or scenic walks based on your interests — without a fixed program or rushing from place to place.

When it’s time to continue, we’ll meet at a convenient spot near the center — no uphill walk needed. We’ll come pick you up by car.

Physical demand: 🟢 Easy (🟡 Moderate if you choose to walk up the castle again)

2 hod ● Free Time ● Admission to One Museum included

We make a special stop in Holašovice, a beautifully preserved village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We spend relaxed time here to enjoy the calm atmosphere of rural South Bohemia. Your guide introduces the village’s unique layout, history, folk traditions, and everyday life — a peaceful contrast to the bustle of Český Krumlov.

On most visits, we are welcomed to a small private rural museum by a local resident whose family has lived here for over 500 years. He shares everyday farm tools, household objects, and personal stories of village life across generations.

Please note: This private visit is led exclusively by the owner and may occasionally not be available (e.g. due to illness). In such cases, we will recommend alternative museums in Český Krumlov.

🟢 Easy (short walk on flat surface)

45-60 min ● Guided Walk ● Admission Included

Drop-off in Prague between 17:30-18:30*

*Note: All times are estimates. Your exact pick-up time will be confirmed the day before your tour. Return time depends on traffic and other factors, so some flexibility is appreciated.

Dec 2025 ︱ Český Krumlov Tour
The length of visit is awesome and the view of the attractions was amazing. The guide (Andrew) gave us plenty of time to explore without rushing and the explanation of the attractions were well explained. Furthermore, he does his best to ensure that our needs were met. I recommend this experience 100%. Ideal if you are looking to get out of the typical city tourism and explore the Czech nature with someone who really knows and loves the place. I wish all tours were like this!

Ondřey made this day so special from the start. We felt so comfortable in the clean new car. His knowledge of both villages was deep and unique. The food and beer felt special. Even the free time was perfect. We were able to spend time with people (and animals!) that had spent their whole lives in these tiny villages. The museums are worth the visit alone. Two thumbs up!

My husband and I had a beautiful and meaninful day knowing the castle and around. Besides the castle, the guide select interesting points in the center village as the monastery museum which mantain a space and carefully preserved. The guide took care to give us an unique experience including a visit in a nearby horse farm, where we knew a traditional horse creeder who shared some of his good life histories.

Jul 2025 ︱ Český Krumlov Tour
I was very struck by the small attitudes. Ondrej offered umbrellas for the sun, walking sticks, water, snacks, internet... that is a sign of great affection and customer care. We went to Cesky Krumlov in a very comfortable van. The city is amazing! Stunning architecture and lots of history. The tour has an excellent balance between explanations, time for photos and free time to walk through the beautiful little streets of the city. In the end when we thought we were going home Ondrej still took us to dinner in Prague and we had a lot of fun. I highly recommend Czech Out as a tourist agency in Czech Republic!
