overview
Discover Český Krumlov the relaxed way — without the rushing typical of most day tours. Travel in a small group and enjoy a full-day journey combining one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval towns with an authentic Bohemian village.
After hotel pickup in Prague, we head to Český Krumlov. With your guide, you’ll explore both iconic highlights and quieter corners most visitors never find. The stroll usually includes visits to local artisans such as a jeweller, blacksmith, or leather craftsman. On warm days, we may taste local craft beer too.
After the walk, we’ll have lunch in a cozy local restaurant, followed by extended free time to explore at your own pace. You’re free to discover more corners of the town, browse shops, or visit one of its many museums.
On the way to Prague, we make a special stop in Holašovice, a tiny UNESCO-listed village, where we talk about Czech village life. On most visits, we are welcomed by a local resident whose family has lived here for over 500 years, sharing everyday objects and personal stories of rural life.
We return to Prague in the early evening.
Please note: Castle interior access varies by season. The Castle Tower is open year-round (except Mondays), while other interiors are available on guided tours. Your guide can advise on options if you’re interested.

1️⃣ Guided Walk: Castle, Old Town & Hidden Corners
We begin at the top — literally. After arriving early (before the big crowds), we’ll park above the town and start a guided walk through the castle complex (exteriors), taking in sweeping views over the rooftops and the Vltava River bens as we descend gently along a cobbled path.
From there, we’ll explore what were once three separate historic towns — Latrán, the Old Town, and the Jewish Quarter. Each has its own unique vibe, and we take the time to enjoy it all.
This isn’t a checklist march — we move at a relaxed, easy-going pace, stopping for photos, stories, and local insights. Along the way, we’ll discover hidden gems most tours skip — from tucked-away viewpoints to charming artisan shops and quiet corners that feel miles away from the main square.
Physical demand: 🟢 Easy (well-maintained paths, walking down)
2-2.5 hours ● Guided walk
🍽️ Lunch (included)
We’ll enjoy lunch at one of our trusted local restaurants, chosen from a small selection of cozy, well-proven places we know personally. Depending on the day and season, lunch may feature traditional Czech or other quality local cuisine.
Please note that vegan and vegetarian options are limited, but we are happy to coordinate with the kitchen to find a suitable meal.
Physical demand: 🔘 Not applicable (seated break)
1 hour ● Lunch Included (1 main course + 1 non-alcoholic drink, beer or wine)
2️⃣ Free Time in Český Krumlov
After the guided walk, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore Český Krumlov at your own pace. Enjoy a coffee by the river, wander hidden lanes, browse local craft shops, take photos, or simply soak in the atmosphere.
If you’re interested in museums, there are several options you may choose to visit during your free time (closed on Mondays), such as:
🖼️ Castle Museum
🧬 Moldavite Museum
🎨 Egon Schiele Art Centrum
📿 Monastery Museum
🏛️ Regional Museum
Your guide will happily recommend museums, viewpoints, cafés, or scenic walks based on your interests — without a fixed program or rushing from place to place.
When it’s time to continue, we’ll meet at a convenient spot near the center — no uphill walk needed. We’ll come pick you up by car.
Physical demand: 🟢 Easy (🟡 Moderate if you choose to walk up the castle again)
2 hod ● Free Time ● Admission to One Museum included
3️⃣ Holašovice: UNESCO Bohemian Village
We make a special stop in Holašovice, a beautifully preserved village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We spend relaxed time here to enjoy the calm atmosphere of rural South Bohemia. Your guide introduces the village’s unique layout, history, folk traditions, and everyday life — a peaceful contrast to the bustle of Český Krumlov.
On most visits, we are welcomed to a small private rural museum by a local resident whose family has lived here for over 500 years. He shares everyday farm tools, household objects, and personal stories of village life across generations.
Please note: This private visit is led exclusively by the owner and may occasionally not be available (e.g. due to illness). In such cases, we will recommend alternative museums in Český Krumlov.
